About Me

I am a small town girl from Stayner, Ontario. I was born and raised in Stayner and enjoy the country living it offers. I grew up playing Rep League Girls hockey for many years and enjoy playing many other sports as well. Growing up in a small town has provided me with a many opportunities to volunteer and work with others. I enjoy spending my time helping others, especially assisting local teachers in their classrooms from Kindergarten to Grade 8.

Every since I was little I knew that I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up… so here I am now chasing that dream! I am currently an HBAScBed student at Lakehead University in Orillia. I am in my 5th year of my degrees and my first year in the Faculty of Education. I am so close to the finish line of becoming a qualified teacher and could not be happier!

I have experience already working with the Simcoe County District School Board as a Tutor and as an Emergency Supply Teacher, Educational Assistant, Designated Early Childhood Educator, and Secretary. All of these experiences have been wonderful and remind me that I am heading into the right profession for me. Everyday in the educational field is different and exciting. Having a positive impact on student’s lives is a very rewarding position. I feel that there is more to being an educator than just teaching children. Building relationships and allowing the students to grow and accomplish things is very heart-warming.
